The Military Order of the Cootie, the "Honor Degree" of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, is a group of selected and invited VFW members who have demonstrated their belief in assistance to the veterans, their families, and the community at large.
Specifically targeted to bring aid and comfort to those veterans who are hospitalized, the Cooties, and their Auxilaries (Cuties), regularly visit hospitals and nursing facilities where veterans are housed. These visits, which provide such items as personal hygiene products, telephone cards and "goodies", are delivered by red and white clad Cooties and Cuties.
Their motto is :Keep'em smiling in beds of white."The laughter and antics of the Cooties and Cuties attempts to do just that. All money derived from their meetings, fund raisers, raffles, etc. goes totally into aiding hospitalized veterans and support for the VFW National Home for Children.
It is truly a giving organization!
